LAS VEGAS, NV - When Jim Duensing views the events of September 11, 2001, the more he questions, the more questions arise. His new group, Libertarians for Justice, is urging a U.S. Congressional investigation into the events surrounding the infamous day.
In the minds of many libertarians, the day's tragic events have led to a rapid erosion of our civil liberties. Foremost among those is the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, the passage of the Patriot Act, the suspension of habeas corpus and the Posse Comitatus Act, the implementation of suspect federal surveillance and wiretapping, as well as the expansion of stifling commercial travel restrictions.
Duensing and his Libertarians for Justice members are asking like-minded libertarians to sign a pledge in support of the congressional inquiry.
The pledge reads:
On Behalf of the People of the United States of America, the undersigned DEMAND JUSTICE FOR THE VICTIMS of the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001.
For the families who have fought bureaucratic stonewalling;
For the rescue workers who are still dying of mysterious illnesses;
For the researchers and experts who have dedicated their lives to researching the government’s conspiracy theory;
And, for the American people whose freedoms were surrendered to the terrorists by our own government.
We, the undersigned, demand a publicly conducted Congressional inquiry, with full subpoena power, into the largest terrorist attack in American history.
The committee shall meet, ask questions, and demand answers until We the People are sure beyond a reasonable doubt that the terrorists have been brought to justice.
The issue spans politics for Duensing, the libertarian candidate for U.S. Congress in Nevada's 1st District. "The 9/11 Truth movement doesn't need to organize politically to raise questions about the government's conspiracy theory surrounding the attacks of 9/11," Duensing notes on his blog. "Scientists, firemen, engineers, families, victims, journalists, pilots, press, investigative researchers, and others have been asking those questions for some time."
"The anomalies surrounding the unprecedented collapse of WTC7 warrant a congressional investigation far more than steroids in baseball or the professional football practice sessions. If Congress has time to look at sports anomalies, they can look at an unsolved terrorist attack," Duensing concludes.
