Liedtky Making News in Marshall County

Reported by WTCA radio station in Marshall County, Indiana.

PLYMOUTH, IN -- Marshall County has it’s first Libertarian on the ballot. The three Republican and three Democratic candidates for the three County Council at Large Seats will have one other candidate to deal with during this campaign season.

Ryan Liedtky, pronounced (Lid key), a 23 year old Polk Township resident has filed on the Libertarian ticket as a County Council candidate for the November General Election. A graduate of John Glenn High School, Liedtky works in the Technology department for the South Bend Tribune and helps his mother with her business Perfect Pets Grooming. He has attended Ancilla College part-time since 2004 majoring in criminal justice.

In his spare time Mr. Liedtky likes to write and enjoys writing poetry, articles for online news sites and is currently working on two novels. He also has coached baseball in North Liberty since he was 16 years old.

A member of the International High IQ Society, Liedtky has qualified to take the Mensa test but hasn’t done so yet because of financial concerns. He also runs seekingcollege.com, a website that he hopes will accomplish two things, one political, the other not. Liedtky notes on his web site that he will plan to push for change to the current system through petitions to congressmen and to help students and parents of college students find ways to save money on tuition and fees.

He has a written six step plan for the county and will discuss his plan on the What’s Your Opinion Show on Thursday, July 31st at 9:45 a.m.
