LPIN Hands Out Awards, Dan Drexler Wins Bourland Light of Liberty Award

Fresh off of his unanimous re-election to Vice Chair of the LPIN, Dan Drexler was awarded with the Party's highest honor, the Dr. Barbara Bourland Light of Liberty Award. Dan is honored as a person most responsible for the growth of the party and dedication to the libertarian cause within the last year.

Dan has been responsible for much of the success of the LPIN in the last three years. Dan served as interim Executive Director in 2006. He stepped into the role of Vice Chair in 2008. He has run as a Libertarian for the offices of Marion County Auditor, and Indianapolis/Marion County City County Council, 2nd District. Within the Party, he has also served as LP of Marion County Vice Chairman, LP of LaPorte County Media Officer, and 7th District Representative on the LPIN State Central Committee.

"Looking over the crowd at the convention, I marvelled at how far we've come," said Drexler. "All the new faces, and new ideas, show amazing growth. To look back at the list of Bourland Light of Liberty Award winners, it's truly humbling to know that my peers feel I've contributed as much to our efforts as these people. These are the people I have looked up to for years, and it's really gratifying to know that our efforts are now inspiration for a new wave of party leadership. With any award, it's always a team effort. I'm just thrilled to have been and remain a member on this team."

"We have much work ahead of us, but certainly the momentum is coming our way," continued Drexler. "It's great to hear reference to libertarian principles in the mainstream media."
